About T & T Clark

T&T Clark’s tradition of publishing works by world-class scholars in both Europe and North America stretches back to 1821, when it was founded in Edinburgh by Thomas Clark (he was joined in 1846 by his nephew, also named Thomas). T&T Clark became part of Continuum in 2000. In 2003, the three religious academic imprints of Sheffield Academic Press, Trinity Press International and T&T Clark were united under one imprint.

Today, T&T Clark’s publishing programme continues to reflect the range, breadth and quality of publishing which established the reputations of Sheffield, Trinity and T&T Clark itself. It provides an extensive resource for students, scholars and teachers in biblical studies, theology and church history, publishing books at every level. The list boasts some of the most important and influential authors in the field – past and present: biblical scholars such as James D. G. Dunn, Richard Hays, Martin Hengel and Gerd Theissen, and theologians such as Karl Barth, Wolfhart Pannenberg, Karl Rahner and T. F. Torrance. Together the imprint represents one of the most extensive collections of religious academic books in the world with more than 2,200 books in print.
