Prospective Authors

If you are interested in being a part of our rapidly growing academic list, and would like to submit a proposal for a student guide, series, monograph or reference work, please do not hesitate to contact us. A full list of editorial contacts can be found in the Authors information area as well as information about publishing with Continuum, how to submit a book proposal, guidelines for authors and much more.

Most of our titles are available to lecturers as exam or desk copies. Continuum will consider any other requests, but reserves the right to refuse a title at its own discretion.

Examination and Desk Copies

Exam Copy Policy

We offer a 90-day examination period to academics. An invoice will accompany the examination copy billed at 50% of the retail price of the book. Within 90 days you can either adopt the text, pay the invoice, or return the book. If the textbook is adopted and a bookstore order for ten or more copies is placed, the examination copy is free. Please contact Customer Service at (800) 561-7704 with the adoption details. Professors are limited to one examination copy per title and five titles per academic year. The request must include the professor’s name, course title, and anticipated enrollment and be made on institutional letterhead or e-mail.

To request an examination copy professors can complete the online form, email us at examcopies@continuum-books.com or fax your request on school letterhead to (212) 953-5944. Please include course name and expected enrollment.

Desk Copy Policy

If a book is adopted for a class of 10 or more students, the professors can request a free desk copy. Please send your request on department letterhead and indicate the name of the bookstore placing the order (minimum 10 copies), the name of the course, and enrollment.

Conferences, Exhibitions and Bookfairs

Continuum attends many conferences and bookfairs throughout the year, all over the world. Editorial and marketing staff attend many of these shows, displaying a large range of Continuum titles at our booths, and giving you and your colleagues a chance not only to browse our publications but to purchase them at a discount both at the show and afterwards.
